Daily Update — Art from Rubble

Today was my final meeting with the wonderful teacher Sahar and her incredible students in southern Gaza before returning north. Over three hours of creativity, healing, and connection.

Our activities included:

• Painting on clothes rescued from the rubble

• Embodying the map of Palestine in beautiful creative forms

• Mandala drawing as a therapeutic space for calm and expression

We also sculpted using recycled cardboard pulp—proving that art isn’t limited to clay. Students created a map of Palestine and a symbolic sculpture of a woman with closed eyes.

We ended with heartfelt interviews about their favorite “Art from Rubble” activities.

A warm farewell… until we meet again.
