Daily Update from Nada — Art from the Rubble 🎨🏚✨
And it didn’t stop there…
Because I believe the power of art lives within every child, today I welcomed a new group of lovely children to join my talented students.
To help them feel at home, I handed out paper cards and colored pencils, giving space to the children who had been quietly watching us create art under the rubble. To my surprise, each of them drew something deeply expressive — I stood at a distance, simply amazed.
It was a heartwarming scene: joy, colors, and the golden sunset wrapped around us as we painted beside the rubble.
When our session ended, a little boy named Yamen looked at me and said something that pierced my heart:
“I wish you had come when the war first started, so we could do art with you.”
In that moment, I wished I could sit and create art with every child in Gaza — every child who has carried more pain than any child ever should.
