Happy Mother’s Day to every mother, everywhere.

Today, my heart received one of the most beautiful gifts a mother’s heart could receive.

From a small room in Cairo, three children lifted their voices and sang to me.

Their little hands formed hearts, their smiles bright and full of love, as they said: “Happy Mother’s Day… we love you, Mommy.”

In that moment, my heart filled with a warmth beyond words. Behind those three gentle voices stand many other children — boys and girls from about fifteen families, now living together far from the land where they were born. Some still hold the loving hand of their mothers. Some are orphans. Some carry on their young bodies the silent marks of war.

They are children of Gaza, now learning and growing in Cairo, lovingly cared for through the Hands Up Project.

And yet, in that small room, surrounded by drawings on the walls and the quiet light in their eyes, they reminded me of something profound:

Even when the world has been harsh, the heart of a child still knows how to love.

Their little song crossed the miles and reached my soul. And I realized something beautiful.

This song is not only for me. This song is for every mother in the world — a song born from innocence,

a song carried by pure love.

So today I send my warmest wishes to every mother, wherever you may be, whether you celebrate Mother’s Day today or on another day. May your children always be protected. May your homes be filled with peace. And from the depth of my heart, I whisper a prayer for our world:

May peace reach every land, so that children everywhere may grow without fear, may laugh freely, and may sing to their mothers with joy. For when a child can smile and sing, humanity still has hope.

Happy Mother’s Day to every mother, everywhere.
