They’re windows into worlds. 🌍✨
At the Hands Up Project, link-up sessions aren’t just classes—they’re windows into worlds. Over the past weeks, our incredible volunteers and Palestinian teachers have turned screens into spaces of laughter, learning, and cross-cultural magic. Here’s a glimpse of the joy unfolding:
In the West Bank, Muna’s 6th graders opened their hearts to our volunteer Sophie, sharing stories of friendship that transcended borders. “I love my friend Seba because she’s honest, generous, and brave” -one student said, as others painted vibrant portraits of their closest pals. Meanwhile, Maysoon’s students dazzled Fiona with a colorful reenactment of Palestinian wedding rituals—complete with traditional dress, music, and laughter that bridged continents.
Not to be outdone, Samya’s class teamed up with Gopika and Mechthild to explore the water cycle—complete with raindrop sound effects and giggles as students “evaporated” and “rained” across the classroom!
And let’s not forget Dina’s students, who bonded with Samantha over shared dreams, or Amal’s class, who lit up Maria’s screen with their curiosity and courage.
To our volunteers and Palestinian teachers: Your creativity and resilience are changing lives. To thrive amid unimaginable challenges while fostering connection? That’s not just teaching—it’s activism.
Are you a teacher (in Palestine or anywhere!)? Want to bring this magic to your classroom? Let’s connect! Whether it’s friendship, festivals, or the wonders of science, let’s build bridges together.
