Hana Mohammed-Stories Alive Teacher
I am an English teacher at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Gaza, with 15 years of experience teaching English to young learners. I am passionate about creating engaging, meaningful learning experiences and using stories as a powerful tool to make English accessible, enjoyable, and memorable for my students.
Alongside my teaching career, I have been a volunteer with the Hands Up Project for the past three years, working as part of the Stories Alive Team, led by Mr. Ashraf Kheil. During the genocide, I continued volunteering through the project, using storytelling and creative activities to help children learn English while providing them with moments of connection, imagination, and joy during incredibly difficult circumstances.
Through my work, I believe that stories can do more than teach a language—they can give children a voice, inspire their imagination, and remind them that learning and hope can continue even in the hardest times.
