All the poems in this collection were written and illustrated by children aged 8 to 17 from nine different countries - Bosnia, Brazil, Fiji, Italy, Mexico, Palestine, South Africa, UK, and Uzbekistan - and are presented here in the form in which they were originally received.

Some of the entries for a poetry competition launched in 2025, marking 30 years since the Bosnian Genocide. This is a collaboration between the Hands Up Project, the National Education Union, and Remembering Srebrenica.
