Hope Club...live with hope

I'm Wafaa Khudeir,  an English teacher from Gaza, Palestine, working with the Hands Up Project. I'm leading the Hope Club storytelling sessions, THE HOPE CLUB, as we prefer to call them.

Our club is one of the Hands Up Project's clubs in Gaza. It contains many students who are interested in the English language. They are having weekly sessions full of love, joyness and amusement. They enjoy their time together playing, drawing, acting, and making various creative ideas.

The sessions become a vibrant gateway to learning, allowing the students to explore language through creativity, imagination, and active participation. Students step into the world of each story through role-play, expressive drawing, interactive games, and thoughtful discussions.

Every activity offers them a meaningful opportunity to communicate, collaborate, and interpret the characters and events from their own perspectives. The sessions gradually transform into a space where learning is experienced rather than merely received, and where every gesture, drawing, response, and performance contributes to a deeper understanding of the language.

Such a rich blend of creativity and interaction not only strengthens the students’ linguistic abilities but also constructs their confidence, curiosity, and willingness to express themselves. storytelling becomes more than a teaching strategy; it becomes an engaging journey through which the students learn, imagine, communicate, and discover the joy of learning English. We are looking forward to improving our English skills and contacting other speakers of English around the world, more and more properly.
